What made you start Flying Caps Technologies?
I have always been fascinated by the possibilities of software engineering. I started my career as a software developer for Java, J2EE and RPA Automation and worked with companies such as HCL and Cognizant. However, I always wanted to develop something of my own and saw great potential in the mobile gaming industry. So I decided to completely change my career path and challenged the mobile gaming category with my husband. How was your trip as a female game developer?
The journey has never been easier. Software development and game development are two very different features. But over time, I was able to self-learn and gain full ownership of the development of new indie games. Finally, in 2019, I decided not only to be a developer, but also to co-found Flying Caps Technologies. FlyingCaps Technologies is a game company where my husband and I build compelling games that people around the world can play. We are also looking forward to the release of games for female gamers by female developers.
What is the main focus of your game?
In 2016, we started by building indie games aimed at reaching people around the world and providing a unique and destructive gaming experience. Today we have built Flying Caps Technologies. Through Google Play, I was able to better understand how the game is growing and gain deeper insights into the audience. This platform will help you gain better insights into the user base and technical aspects of the game.
How has the app ecosystem evolved in post-pandemic India, especially when it comes to online games?
Mobile games are on the rise in India, and more people are accessing online in pandemics, spending time online. Lower data costs in the country have also helped to adopt the Internet. India’s game base is growing exponentially and demand for local gaming solutions is expected to increase. However, despite increasing demand, it was a difficult stage for a studio like us. We were considering launching many new games, but we had to freeze our hiring plans in light of the pandemic.
We are looking forward to future business expansion. We would like to launch various categories of games such as multiplayer, hyper-casual, and games using AR and VR. We believe that games are a great area for female developers and look forward to going to campus and bringing in fresh talent.
Do you have a message you would like to share with fellow female developers on this Women’s Day?
I would like to emphasize that more female game developers are needed. The female gaming population has grown significantly, providing a great opportunity for female game developers to succeed. I encourage female developers across the country to take initiatives that help them create their opportunities and realize their dreams. Now is the time to build for the world, wisely and confidently.
